Dan Wheeler typifies the young, high-energy component of The Wealthy 100 member profile. He has been with Diversified Human Resources, a $300 million annual operation and the largest office human resource company in Arizona for small to medium-size businesses, since its inception seven years ago.
While Wheeler and his wife Paige-who have two young children haven’t been able to attend any of the Wealthy 100 events as yet because time with their family has taken priority, Wheeler said he is "definitely a contributing member."
"It puts a lot of people together with similar interests, similar backgrounds. It puts a lot of commonalities together, and I think that's what's most beneficial. As he [Christenson] goes nationwide with it, it will be an even better network. In my business, networking is how we get most of our business. I have a few clients of mine that are actually members of The Wealthy 100, so it's been beneficial to my business as well. I love what it does-I mean, it opens up a lot of doors, a lot of nice perks. "
Aside from the perks, what stands out for Wheeler is the healthy habit of regular saving he and his wife have been introduced to. "... what's nice is the fact that you have certain contribution levels that you make, and you just make' em because you're required to make' em. So it's forced savings, I guess. Forced savings to me is huge, because I like a lot of toys and I like to play. If I know that money-before it even hits my paycheck-just gets deposited directly into an account there and it just grows, then I'll look back on it and that will be my children's future."
